Hello friends! I wanted you all to be the first to hear: I'm officially launching my webcomic Bummer Party tomorrow!
Now, you might be thinking, "how is that literally any different than what you've been doing for the past ten months" — and the answer is: it's not, really. It'll be the same comics I've been posting, in the same places. But my goal here is to brand every comic I draw as a single collective body of work, rather than just random individual pieces by Rusty.
And, of course, it wouldn't be a bummer party without a bummer announcement too: I officially posted the last new Depressing Fridge Poems to Instagram yesterday! Very nearly ten years to the day me and some friends posted the first poem back in 2013. You'd think I'd feel sad about it or something, but honestly I'm just relieved! I'm very much looking forward to working solely on Bummer Party (and hopefully some gag cartoons, too).

I'll still be posting old fridge poems daily over at @depressingfridgepoems, but @rusty.creates will pretty much be reserved for Bummer Party, from now on.
I'm excited to share all the stuff I've been working on — and I hope you join the party!
Anyways, here’s what you missed this week.
As the onslaught of Reddit commenters were keen to point out (over and over and over) — it’s actually a sail, not a flag.
I actually got to collaborate with the Neopets team on this one! 12-year-old me would’ve been freaking out (32-year-old me was also freaking out).
Apparently I was on a bit of a millennial kick this week! And yes, I did confirm that Bill Nye hates astrology before drawing this.
She’s an introvert.
Until next week,
Rusty
